Group Kayaking Fitness Sessions

1. What do I need to bring?
Hat, sunscreen, towel, sunglasses, change of clothing, bottle of water

 

2. What should I wear?

Bike shorts, lycra/rash top, hat, a warm top (fleece or wool), waterproof booties or sandals and/or waterproof jacket (in case of bad weather)

 

3. Do I need to have kayaking experience?

No kayaking experience - basic skills and safety is all covered at the first session of the 8 week term. All participants must be competent swimmers and in reasonably fit condition. If you have any health concerns we recommend checking with your GP prior to participating

 

4. Do I need to book?

Yes. Bookings are essential and payment is required in advance
 

5. What happens if  it is raining?

PaddleFIT still goes ahead in rain

 

6. Do PaddleFIT sessions run all year around?

PaddleFIT sessions run throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn inline with the NSW school terms
 

7. When I book for an 8 week term, do I need to go to same location and session time each week?
This is what most people choose to do, however where possible we try and be flexible giving you the option to swap session days and times if requested. Just remember, if you are a beginner your first session must be a learn to kayak session

 

8. Will I be supplied with a safety vest?

Yes, all participants will be provided with and must wear a personal floatation device (PFD) for duration of session
 

9. Can I bring my own kayak?

No, we do ask that everyone uses the kayaks provided.

 

10. How do I book?

Email or call us to check availability and book your session then make payment using one of the methods detailed on the Pricing and Bookings page

 

11. When do I pay?

Payment is required in advance of the session. Payment options are detailed on the Prices and Bookings page

 

12. Can I come along on a casual session?
It’s fine to come along to any regular PaddleFIT session as a casual, you must however have previous paddling experience and you must also pay and book in advance of the day. Cost is $30 for a casual session

 

 

13. I would like to purchase PaddleFIT Sessions as a gift voucher. Is this possible?
It is best however to purchase one of our PaddleFIT Gift Vouchers. You can specify the amount of the voucher. The recipient of the voucher then has 1 whole year to purchase their PaddlePASS

14. What is the age and sex mix of a group?
Sessions are usually a mix of males and females ranging in age from 30 to 70 years old :) Many people are new to kayaking, others have experience and just want to come along for the group experience.

 


15. Where do I put my keys when on session?
The guide will carry a dry bag in which you can put your keys.

16. Are there change / toilet facilities nearby?

Yes! At all locations there are change rooms, toilets and shower facilities nearby

 

17. What if I am unable to make all of the 8 sessions?
Provided we have at least 24 hours notice of the change you can swap to a different session day/time. If less than 24 hour notice provided then you will lose the session. Where possible where prefer all make up sessions to be done within the 8 week term of your booking. However we can also provide you with vouchers which can be used in subsequent terms
